It's been a while, but...

... I may just have to resurrect the usage of this site. And like more longer rants from Facebook to here, will try it sometime soon...

I hope, or plan too anyways

Wow... its been a while...

Ok, so this is what happens when you kind of lose your way into Facebook for about a month, you don't get the chance to post here.

Its not like there hasn't been stuff worth reporting, I just haven't been a) in the mood to write, or b) didnt think what I was IN the mood to write was worth reporting here.

So you get today's note, kind of a tweenerville posting...

Work - is still there, its still led by childish people, doing childish things, its like F-in high school, so help me...

High School - like I needed another reminder of advancing age - I got a postcard regarding my 20th reunion... I'm not going [Crafty & Tina's wedding in MD - Thank God], I'll see if my cousin attends, whenever I actually see my cousin again

Birthday - speaking of advancing age, I turned another year older a few weeks back - funny, I don't feel a day older than 25 1/2. Mentally I'm still like, uh, duh, 13.

Life - family is good, my nephew and two nieces are doing very well. Saw them this past Saturday. Already planning who's doing what/where for Thanksgiving & Xmas... sheesh, I just want to sleep those two days away.

Travel - nowhere far since NOLA, but that's about to start changing... Atlantic City, Frederick MD, Chicago, Western PA, all in the next few weeks.

LAX - there may not be a WINGS season - stupid labor strife, League is playing hardball with the players... PITA, taking away my only tax season entertainment is NOT NICE!! Hope they get it solved quickly.

Movies - I've become a bit of a DVD collector lately, the discount bin at Walmart is bad for me, what can I say. I mean come on $4 for Mel Brooks' History of the World Part 1!! You can't beat that! The inquisition.... what a show...

Facebook - its a neat way to catch up to all of your friends all at once, but to visit more than once a day is a PITA. BUT, I read a great Forbes.com writeup on how its hiring a lot of Google's best talent, and is widely considered the "next big Internet stock" thing if it ever goes public.

EBay - my other selfish pastime in the last month or so - haven't bought a lot, but its the never ending flea market aspect - you mean you've got a purple polo shirt with a pocket on the front IN MY SIZE - Awesome! I'm SOOO bidding on that! Winning an item is like hitting the lottery, very personally satisfying... if you can afford it, that is.

Books - got a great book at the bar on Friday night - Clean Cabbage in the Bucket by Robbie O'Connell, Frank Emerson, Harry O'Donoghue, Dennis O'Rourke, and my favorite, Seamus Kennedy! Its a mix of short true stories accumulated by these five Irish musicians as they've traveled and toured over the years. I'm about 1/5 of the way thru it, and some are sad, some are funny, a lot are insightful into the business of being a "wandering minstrel" if you will, very intriguing, and helpful if I ever open up a bar as to how to deal with the hired help :)

Anyways, wow, I think I just made up for my lost time, take care all
Peace

Time keeps on slippin slippin slippin...

Sigh, I need another life. To accomplish that which I WANT to do, vs what I MUST do.

So easy to enjoy the one, but cant afford it without the other.

Wings Schedule released on Monday! YAY Roadtrips! Need to get all my Fall -winter travelling organized now.

Boston, NYC, DC, Chi-town, West Coast [?], Western PA, KY, WVA, all need to be visited, whew!
I'm tired just typing that!

Til next time
